LARGO – Largo City Manager Mac Craig confirmed that the city is conducting an internal investigation on Fire Chief Michael Wallace.
“We’re just investigating a complaint,” he said Feb. 19. “More than one complaint.”
The city has not released the nature of the investigation, and Craig would not comment on any details of the complaints.
The investigation itself won’t be complete for two more weeks, he said.
Human Resources Director Susan Sinz said she began the internal investigation on Jan. 29.
Wallace has been Largo’s Fire Chief since Oct. 15, 2007. He worked his way up through the ranks at Largo Fire Rescue before taking a job as deputy fire chief for the city of Seminole Fire Rescue in March 2004.
