LARGO – Julia Zammito, fitness expert and president of Total Body Results in Largo, has been chosen as a 2013 Athleta Chi Featured Athlete.
Athleta is owned by the same company as Gap, Old Navy and Banana Republic and is all about real athletes inspiring active women with products that function, fit and perform beautifully. Each year, it sponsors a handful of athletic women who inspire other women, the Athleta business and its customers.
“I am so excited,” Zammito said in a press release. “This means a lot because it is a huge opportunity to represent Athleta. Last year in 2012, they sponsored the U.S. women’s water polo team, who collectively won 12 Olympic medals. So to be chosen to follow amazing women like them is such an honor.”
Zammito is only one of 10 athletes in the country to be chosen for this honor in 2013. In this role, Zammito will write blogs and participate in the Athleta online community by sharing her knowledge as a fitness trainer, fitness boot camp instructor and nutrition expert. Athleta is also the sponsor of the annual Iron Girl race that will take place in April in Clearwater, and Zammito will help represent the company at that event.
Salon West of Largo wins award
LARGO – Salon West of Largo has won the prestigious Redken and Pureology Salon of the Year Powerhouse Award, which honors salons that have a strong commitment to both the Redken and Pureology brands.
Owners Mike and Laura Peters were recently presented this honor at a reception during the 2013 Redken International Symposium in Las Vegas.
Salon West attributes its sales success to continuing education. The salon staff has committed to educating themselves to better educate their clients. This has led to increased client loyalty, business referrals and retail and service sales.
“Continuing education has been the key to our success and to carry both Redken and Pureology together gives us the tools necessary to stay at the leading edge of the beauty industry,” said Mike Peters, owner of Salon West, in a press release. “When we started carrying Pureology, that opened the door to two different types of clients which grew the business significantly. “Of course it’s wonderful to be recognized by your peers but to be recognized by a company in which you are fully invested – well that’s just an honor and a blessing.”
