Artists’ Market coming to park March 24-25

Inside this week’s Largo Leader is a special section filled with information about the inaugural Largo Central Park Artists’ Market on March 24 and 25.
LARGO – To fulfill their mission to promote and perpetuate the arts in the community, Partners ‘N Progress is sponsoring the inaugural Largo Central Park Artists’ Market on March 24 and 25.

More than 50 artists have responded to the call to show and sell their art in Largo Central Park during the two day art show and festival.

Media to be shown include acrylic, oil and watercolor painting, photography, ceramics, wood, sculpture, pottery, fiber, jewelry, glass-mixed media and more.

Artists from as far away as Oklahoma and Alabama are planning to attend as well as many Florida artists.

“We have worked very hard to ensure the quality of our artists to make this truly a fine art show,” said Alan Rowe of Art Buzz.Org, one of the sponsors of the festival.

In addition the artists will be eligible to win more than $6,000 in prize money during the two day show. A $3,000 grand prize for Best of Show will be awarded to one talented artist.

Partners ’N Progress has the support of many local businesses and individuals, all of whom have given of their time and expertise to make the show a success. Sponsors include Center Stage Sponsor, Old Harbor Bank, USAmeriBank, Schiller International University, Modern Masters Art Gallery, Weaver Enterprises, The Village Inn of Largo, The Stuffed Mushroom, the Largo Leader, Art Attack, ArtBuzz.Org, the Largo Mid-Pinellas Chamber of Commerce, Jim and Sharon Ayers, Danny Lehan, Plaza Hair, Jack and Sue Bordeaux, Lee and Peri Craven, Rives and Rives, P/A, and Kay Sherman.

The entertainment includes the following:

• Old Harbor Bank Center Stage Performance Schedule Saturday, March 24, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

• Acoustic Guitarist Paul Skye, 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

• Largo Teen Idol Vanessa Quillao, 2:45 to 4:30 p.m.

• The St. Pete Project Band, Sunday, March 25, 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

• The Cool Jazz Sounds of Roy Stewart, 2:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Largo Central Park, a 12 acre tract of greenery in the heart of Pinellas County, is easily accessible to the beaches and surrounding areas. The hours of the festival are Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The day will include food and live entertainment on the Center Stage sponsored by Old Harbor Bank and the Largo Mid-Pinellas Chamber of Commerce. The show is free and open to the public.
