LARGO – A Largo man was charged with eight counts of possession and one count of promotion of child pornography Friday May 2.
Pinellas County Sheriff’s detectives assigned to the Special Victims Unit said Michael Patrick Freeman, 33, admitted to downloading and sharing the child pornography via his computer. Freeman was arrested at his residence on Rosery Road NE in Largo.
According to detectives, the arrest is the result of an undercover internet investigation in Pinellas County, which began on March 8.
Through their investigation detectives identified a potential suspect that was sharing child pornography videos via the Internet. Detectives obtained a search warrant, which was served at Freeman’s residence at 6 a.m.
Freeman was arrested and transported to the Pinellas County jail without further incident. Bond was set at $180,000 - $20,000 per charge.
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is a member of the Central Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
