LARGO – Pinecrest Place will honor its residents who have served in the armed forces with a pinning ceremony Friday, June 13, 10 a.m., in the lobby of the residence, 1150 Eighth Ave. SW.
“We always try to give as much recognition to our veterans as possible,” said Karen McFarlin, executive director for Pinecrest Place. “In the 12 years that I have been at Pinecrest, I still get a thrill from seeing our former servicemen and women being honored by our residents, family members and associates.”
During the ceremony, each veteran will be presented with a pin representing his or her branch of service. In addition, John Schumacher of the American Association of Wartime Veterans will give a presentation on Veterans Aid and Attendance benefits.
The event is open to the public and guest veterans also will receive a pin. Reservations are required to receive a pin. Light refreshments will be served.
