Man arrested for bank robbery

LARGO - Pinellas County Sheriff’s detectives arrested a bank robbery suspect about 3 a.m. Saturday, June 2, in the parking lot of Just Chillin, 1201 Gooden Crossing in Largo.

According to a report from the sheriff’s office, Anthony Leon Monroe, 30, of Clearwater was arrested in connection with the March 2 robbery of Wachovia Bank in Belleair Bluffs.

Monroe was charged with one count of armed robbery and booked in the Pinellas County Jail. Bond was set at $10,000.

The investigation continues.
