LARGO – Two Largo boys, ages 14 and 17, were arrested for beating up a homeless man and stealing $25 from him June 12, according to Largo police.
Three juveniles followed the man from the Circle K at 1499 Belcher Road to a bench where he was resting, police reported. They confronted him, beat him up and took his money before fleeing.
The homeless man took his time getting off the ground. He headed back to the Circle K to clean up. While he was in the bathroom, the teenagers entered the convenience store to buy some items. They are confronted by the homeless man and flee.
Another patron of the Circle K recognized and stopped them. The juveniles were arrested for strong-arm robbery, reportedly confessing to police officers who responded to calls at 11:53 p.m.
