LARGO - Theodore “Tedd” J. Welsch passed away on June 7, 2009, after a courageous battle against cancer, while staying at the home of his dear friend, Richard Lake in Largo.

Tedd, a resident of Springboro, Ohio, was born on May 26, 1929, the only child of Kenneth and Mary Welsch, in Dayton, Ohio.

In the early 1950s, he moved to California where he attended the Pasadena Playhouse, graduating after studying theatre arts. He then joined the LeMone Dance Theatre, founded by Evelyn LeMone, in Pasadena, where he taught and performed for many years.

He later worked as an administrator for Dr. Eugene Baldridge in Pasadena for several years. After retiring, Tedd moved to Belleair Bluffs, where he stayed for about 10 years before returning to Ohio in 2007.

In Florida, he spent most of his time as an active member and volunteer at St. Dunstan’s Anglican Church in Largo. He developed many friendships in Florida and in California and will be dearly missed by all his friends there as well as in many other parts of the country.

Tedd loved animals - he had several dogs throughout the years - and was an avid gardener. He had a prized collection of irises at his home in Pasadena, of which he was very proud.

Tedd is survived by Eileen Jones, Nan Davis and their families.

Services will be held Saturday, June 20 at 10 a.m., his remains will be buried at St. Dunstan’s Anglican Church in Largo.
