'Play it Safe" on Saturday, June 27 LARGO - Organizing for America and the Largo Police Department are cooperating to "play it safe" and collect and dispose of expired and leftover prescription medications properly.
oN Saturday, June 27, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. bring expired, outdated and not needed prescription drugs to the Largo Police Department, 201 Highland Avenue, Largo. For more information, call James O'Gara at 727-517-9476
Prescription drug abuse is a serious and fast-growing problem in the United States. Pharmaceuticals can be just as dangerous as illicit drugs and are more readily available. Make sure that leftover painkillers, antidepressants, heart medications, etc. are not within reach of children – both toddlers and teenagers.
Prevent a heartbreaking incident in which a child (or pet) ingests a powerful substance that can be tragically harmful or deadly. Play it safe and dispose of expired and leftover medications properly. They should never be flushed or just dumped in the garbage. Lincourt Pharmacy will sponsor a "safe destruction" exhibit.
