LARGO – The city of Largo celebrated the 33-year career of Chief John Carroll at a reception at Largo Public Library, Aug. 15.
Largo officials, his fellow police officers and representatives from other law enforcement agencies attended to wish Carroll well on the next chapter of his life and thank him for his service.
He and several of those who spoke hinted at his possible run at a Largo City Commission seat in an upcoming election.
Carroll will be retiring Sept. 7. Deputy Chief Jeff Undestad, 48, will take over responsibility of the department. Carroll acted as Undestad's first field-training officer.
