LARGO – Valpak Direct Marketing Systems Inc. had 90 employees participating in the United Way Suncoast’s 2013 Day of Caring.
The 21st annual Day of Caring took place Oct. 3. The event brought together thousands of volunteers in one day to help organizations to provide important community services across Tampa Bay in the five counties of Pinellas, Hillsborough, Desoto, Sarasota and Manatee.
Valpak employees spent the day sprucing up the cultural arts center at PARC, 3100 75th St. N., St. Petersburg. Employees painted the interior of the gym, the exterior of the cultural arts center and the wooden fence, and stained wood benches. The project also included landscaping, such as weeding, trimming, mulching, cleaning out flower beds and relocating palm trees.
“Our employees look forward to the United Way Day of Caring every year and are genuinely excited to be a part of helping,” said Michael Vivio in a press release. Vivio is president of Cox Target Media, provider of Valpak. “They make us very proud. We’ve done other projects with PARC in the past and it’s a real favorite for our team.”
