Prince of Peace Lutheran celebrates 50 years
LARGO – Celebrating 50 years of ministry is at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 455 Missouri Ave. The church will celebrate by hosting a drive-in movie on Friday, Nov. 13 and a sock hop on Saturday, Nov. 14. Charis Christian Bookstore clearance sale
LARGO – The Charis Christian Bookstore will host a storewide clearance sale Thursday through Sunday, Nov. 5 through 8, at the First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks, 12685 Ulmerton Road. Planned to coincide with the church’s Jamboree, sale hours will be Thursday, 3 to 7 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, 1 to 6 p.m. The store also will host its Christmas Open House on Saturday, Nov. 14, 11 a.m. The event will feature several authors who will be signing books. Largo Community Center’s Celebrity Showcase
LARGO – Dynamic vocals, musical hits, comedy will be featured at this season’s Celebrity Showcase at the Largo Community Center, 65 Fourth St. N.W. All adults and seniors are invited to come out and enjoy a series of matinee shows performed by nationally ranked professional artists. This season’s Celebrity Showcase lineup includes: Dec. 3, The Sweethearts of Branson; Jan. 28, “The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson” with special guests Dame Edna and former President George W. Bush; Feb. 25, The World Famous Platters; and March 25, The McGuire Sisters, 42nd Street Big Band and world famous singing star, Don Cherry. All show times are from 1 to 3 p.m. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased for $14 in advance, or $16 for reserved seating. All tickets at the door will be $15. 'Singin’ in the Rain'
