LARG0 – Detectives of the Largo Police Department began investigating an apparent shooting at the Suburban Lodge, 6550 Ulmerton Road in Largo, on the afternoon of Nov. 12.
Employees of the lodge called police to the scene at 1:37 p.m. They said that a female couple had been staying in one of the rooms and were due to check out Nov. 12. When they did not, hotel staff went to check on the room.
They found the couple inside. One was dead, and the other was in critical need of medical attention due to a gunshot wound. She was flown to Bayfront Hospital.
The preliminary investigation indicates that one female may have shot the other and then attempted suicide, police reported. Detectives were called to the scene to investigate.
