LARGO – The Aquatics Division of the city of Largo Recreation, Parks and Arts Department invites the public to attend the holiday water show, “A Giving Season,” on Saturday, Dec. 5, 5 p.m., at Southwest Pool
The show will feature aquatic dance routines by the Suncoast Waterworks Synchronized Swim Team; Becky Lancer – a 1996 Olympic gold medalist; Florida All Star Teams; the Florida Gators’ Synchronized Swim Team; and Team Florida, adult master competitors. Synchronized swimming is a sport that combines music, dance and athleticism into a choreographed routine.
All ages are welcome to attend and admission to the show is an unwrapped toy or cash donation to be given to the Toys for Tots charity. Event sponsors include the city of Largo and Chick-fil-A Largo. The Southwest Pool is located at 13120 Vonn Road.
The city is offering two boot camp classes for a great morning boost. Classes include a high energy, total body strength workout infused with cardio to keep your heart pumping and your metabolism in overdrive.
Classes are offered every Tuesday and Thursday at 5:15 a.m. at Largo Central Park, 101 Central Park Drive or 6:45 a.m. on Indian Rocks Beach.
Ages 18 and up are welcome to attend. Monthly cost is $60 for residents and $75 for nonresidents. A Largo rec card is required. Call 518-3016 or e-mail mpeterse@largo.com.

Adults, seniors and snowbirds are invited to It’s for the Birds, a free open house at the newly renovated Southwest Recreation Complex on Saturday, Dec. 5. A wide variety of free fitness class demonstrations and activities will be taking place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. throughout the facility. Jazzercise, country line dancing, pilates and computer lessons are just a few of the featured classes.

The Highland Recreation Complex, 400 Highland Ave, is offering children a wide range of activities Monday through Friday mornings at 10 a.m. Daily activities are Monday – Monday Funday; Tuesday – little pals playgroup; Wednesday – sports bugs; Thursday – Little Ninjas; and Friday – little pals playgroup.
