PALM HARBOR – A Tampa man died from injuries suffered when his motorcycle was struck by a car about 6:44 p.m. July 8 on County Road One near Countryshire Lane in Palm Harbor.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Ronald D. Hunter, 74, of Dunedin was attempting to cross County Road One in a 2003 Toyota Camry when he traveled into the path of a 2012 Suzuki MC 1000 being driven by Robert Charles Vath, 24.
Vath’s motorcycle struck the passenger side of the Camry. Vath was ejected from the motorcycle. He was airlifted to Bayfront Medical Center where he later died. Jerri M. Hunter, 73, of Dunedin, the passenger in Hunter’s car, received serious injuries and was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital. Charges are pending.
