Megan Pope, 14, will represent Palm Harbor July 14-15 in the National American Miss Florida state pageant in the junior teen division.
Pope, the daughter of Ginger Pope, enjoys playing softball, cheerleading, tumbling and running. She also plays the guitar and helping others. She has excelled academically, making either the principal’s list or honor roll at Palm Harbor Middle School. She will attend Palm Harbor University High School next year.
The National American Miss pageants are dedicated to celebrating America’s greatness and encouraging future leaders. Each year, the pageant awards thousands of dollars in scholarships and prizes to recognize and assist in the development of young women nationwide. All activities are age-appropriate and family-oriented.
The pageant will be held in Orlando. The winner will receive a $1,000 cash award, crown and banner, a bouquet of roses and air transportation to compete in the national pageant at Disneyland. Pageants are held for girls ages 4 to 18, in five age groups.
