William Hanus’ photograph “Silverback” won second prize in the Pinellas Park Art Society’s December showcase “The Small Works.”
PINELLAS PARK – At its annual Christmas dinner at Park Station, held Dec. 17, the Pinellas Park Art Society installed its officers for 2013.
The following were installed at the celebration: Richard Jansen, president; Steve Daniels, vice president; Paula Bouseman, recording secretary; Mary Pincince, corresponding secretary; and Barbara Sargent, treasurer. Barbara Lewis, Bill Hanus, and Jeannine Talley also were installed as trustees.
Ribbons and cash prizes also were awarded for the group’s December showcase that was on display in Park Station through Jan. 4.
The theme of the members-only showcase was “The Small Works,” a miniatures show. None of the works on display were larger than 11” x 14”.
Those honored for the December showcase include first place winner Marva Simpson for “Face in a Flower” (miniature in oil), second place winner William Hanus for “Silverback” (photography), and third place winner John Carroll for “President in Blue and Grey” (acrylic).
Susan Kubes, for “Adrift” (mixed media), and Joan Grayson, for “My Brother Ron” (oil), received honorable mention.
Frank Lane, for “Aztec” (mixed media), and Lyle Polyak, for “Squeal” (scratchboard) were recognized with merit.
The People’s Choice Award went to Yvonne Long for “Sunset” (miniature).
