LEALMAN – Pinellas County Sheriff’s deputies are looking for a woman who allegedly poured lighter fluid on her ex-boyfriend before setting a fire in his mother’s apartment in Lealman late Friday afternoon. According to deputies, Oscar B. Mitchell, 36, and Kamekia D. Russell, 36, met at a convenience store near the apartment. Mitchell reportedly borrowed some money from Russell some time ago, and Russell wanted him to pay back the money.
When Mitchell left the convenience store, Russell reportedly followed him back to his mother’s home in the Lakeside Terraces Apartment Complex. She then followed him to the second floor and followed him inside the apartment where she allegedly sprayed him with lighter fluid. He then ran out of the apartment.
Russell reportedly remained inside the apartment where she allegedly set fire to a curtain. A small sofa cushion also caught fire. After Mitchell saw Russell leave the apartment, he ran back inside and put out the fire.
Deputies responded and the investigation continues.
