PINELLAS PARK – The Pinellas Park/Gateway Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Installation and Awards Gala on Saturday, Jan. 26, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the Performing Arts Center, 4951 78th Ave. N.
The installation ceremony will honor Chamber president Jon Farris of Crosspointe Church, as he embarks on his second term. Other officers for 2013 include president-elect Hope Peterson, New Hope Auto & Truck Services; treasurer Nancy Hodges, OPTEK International; secretary Housh Ghovaee, Northside Engineering; and officer at-large Tim Caddell, city of Pinellas Park.
The Chamber also will install recently elected and appointed Board members: John Della Costa, Della Costa & Neville, P.A.; Patti Fiedler, Amber Glen Feed Depot; Paul Matton, Park Auto Mall; Lan Nguyen, WellSpring Oncology; and John R. Wolfley, Christian Public Resources.
Several local businesses also will be honored for their involvement with the Chamber and in the community throughout the year.
St. Petersburg College Health Education Center, one of the cornerstones of the growing Pinellas Park Medical District, has been named Large Business of the Year. Walgreens store No. 6786, located at 78th Avenue and 49th Street, has been named Medium-sized Business of the Year for sponsoring various Chamber activities and bringing in sister stores to support Chamber events. Skyway Trap & Skeet Club, host of the annual Chamber trap shoot, has been named Small Business of the Year. The Nonprofit of the Year award will go to 2-1-1 Tampa Bay Cares.
The Pinellas Park Police Department will honor Alyssa Bryant as Youth Citizen of the Year. The Citizen of the Year, kept unannounced until the night of the gala, also will be awarded.
Tickets are $40. A social hour starts at 6:30 p.m., with dinner catered by the Vincent House to be served at 7 p.m. The Installation Ceremony will begin during the dinner hour.
