| Tim and Robin McCormick have pooled together their talents at their successful all-purpose photo design and graphics business. |

PINELLAS PARK – Robin Photo Design, located in a building off U.S. 19, handles clients from all over the Tampa Bay area and beyond.
Launched by Robin McCormick, she worked from home until the business grew so much that she had her own building constructed at 3575 Gandy Blvd.
“We provide quality photography and graphic design services to businesses and professionals,” McCormick said.
Armed with a degree in photography, McCormick said picture processing was a mainstay in the early days of her business. They soon offered other services such as logo and other design for letterheads, brochures and even business cards.
With six employees, McCormick and her husband, Tim, handle production and photography for businesses that range from yachting to restaurants.
Food photography is a specialty for the company whose pictures regularly appear on magazine covers and in other media. There are a lot of tricks to make a picture of, say, a sandwich, look tempting enough to eat.
Bubbles in hot butter, for example, often are created with tiny plastic balls. Food is sprayed to enhance colors. Often the company hires experts who display food and beverages so they are more appealing.
“The food is cooked here before a photo shoot,” McCormick said.
It doesn’t have to be cooked through. Steaks, for example, are done only long enough to show grill marks.
While most clients bring their product to the studio for a shoot, McCormick sometimes has to go to them. In recent months she has traveled to New York City, California and North Carolina.
Clients range from start-ups to established businesses with well-known names.
“We do everything an advertising agency does except place advertisements,” McCormick said.
The company handles products for trade shows, printing and work for magazines and other media. Much of the customer base comes from referrals by satisfied clients.
“The advertising business has changed,” McCormick said. “Companies rely on us for effective marketing pieces.”
Those can range from brochures to large format printing that allows for the production of banners, posters and other displays. The technology also has changed from film and chemical base to digital.
