PINELLAS PARK – Members of the Pinellas Park Police Department Vice/Narcotics Unit, Youth Services, Reserve Officers, and citizen volunteers conducted a detail Feb. 27 to determine whether convenient stores were selling alcohol and tobacco products to underage persons.
Police selected eight stores at random and three stores due to previous complaints and violations.
The following subjects sold alcohol to an underage person:
• Cynthia Lozito at Hess 12550 49th St N.
• Vladimir Bajagic at Rainbow Food Mart 8592 49th St N.
The following subjects sold tobacco products to a minor:
• Shahil Virani at Pure Gas 4911 110th Ave. N.
• Constance Tongel at Citgo 8787 66th St. N.
All violators were issued a notice to appear.
Pinellas Park police say that all reports of this nature are forwarded to the Florida Department of Alcohol, Tobacco and Beverage for any possible administrative or licensing penalties.
“This is an ongoing effort by our agency to aggressively deter, educate and enforce the restrictions of the sale of tobacco and alcoholic beverages to under age persons,” a press release said. “Future enforcement details will be conducted targeting random locations, as well as previous offenders, and locations where complaints have been received.”
