Parked 18 wheeler breaks water line

PINELLAS PARK – The weight of a parked tractor-trailer on a March 4 broke an 8-inch cast iron potable water line and flooded part of 66th Street and at least two commercial buildings.

Scott Pinheiro, director of engineering services, said at about 1:10 p.m. Rodney Fox of Thomasville, N.C., parked his 18 wheeler partially on 66th Street near Park Boulevard. Water flooded at least three businesses before the line was shut down. Pinheiro said the Park Boulevard Drainage Project Phase 2 also was impacted by water damage.
