Article published on Friday, June 1, 2007
PINELLAS PARK – Veterans, soldiers and citizens turned out May 28 for the annual Memorial Day services at Freedom Lake Park.

The event was sponsored jointly by the city and Suncoast Chapter No. 14 of the Korean War Veterans Association.

The ceremonies were held at the memorial honoring those killed and injured in the nation’s wars. Special guest speaker was retired Col. Charley D. Price.

Master of ceremonies was Tim Caddell, city media director. Councilman Ed Taylor represented Mayor Bill Mischler who was out of town.

Entertainment was provided by the Little Hometown Soldiers, a group of youngsters between ages 3 and 16 who sing patriotic songs and visit youngsters and soldiers at VA hospitals and other facilities.
