PINELLAS PARK – An SUV crashed into the living room of a home in the Mainlands the morning of June 18, according to Pinellas Park police.
Police and rescue personnel responded to the crash at around 5:55 a.m., finding a Ford Explorer driven through the front of the house at 4415 100th Ave N. Herbert Bireley, 57, of Clearwater was the driver of the SUV, police said.
Bireley was headed north on 100th Avenue that morning when his vehicle left the road and struck a utility pole, police reported. After striking the pole, the SUV drove into the living room of the home.
Two residents and their two dogs were sleeping in a bedroom at the time of the crash and were not injured. Bireley was transported to a local hospital, but his injuries were not believed to be life threatening, police reported. He was issued citations for careless driving and unknowingly driving with a suspended driver’s license.
