Six youngsters receive police awards

PINELLAS PARK – Police cited six youngsters at a recent City Council meeting.

The awards were presented as part of the department’s Do the Right Thing program that recognizes children for their outstanding efforts.

The awards were presented by Chief Dorene Thomas. The recipients were:

- Shyann Roberts, a Classical Christian School for the Arts student who donates her singing abilities at hospitals, nursing homes, church groups and other organizations.

- Elizabeth Gaskins, a 4th grade student at Pinellas Park Elementary School who donated her $50 prize during an Easter egg hunt to the “Coins for Cancer” program.

- Sabrina and Sammy Angelides of the Classical Christian School for the Arts for helping a student with reading problems.

- Hope Beaudry for helping a school bus driver who suffered an allergic reaction to flowers.

- Robert Muttull for returning a wallet to Pinellas Park High School that he found in a Little League field.
