PINELLAS PARK – Vincent House, a facility that assists mentally challenged citizens, will break ground on July 16 for a much needed expansion.

Vincent House is a clubhouse community that assists individuals inflicted with serious mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder or clinical depression.

The event at 4801 78th Ave. begins at 4:30 p.m. and will be attended by local elected officials, Vincent House members and staff, community supporters and representatives of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, Pinellas Park/Gateway Chamber of Commerce, and others.

Vincent House is a Clubhouse certified by the International Center for Clubhouse Development and one of more than 325 similar programs from 30 countries around the world. ICCD Clubhouses are internationally renowned programs and provide a restorative community for people who have had their lives disrupted by psychiatric illnesses.

The ICCD communities offer participants the opportunity to return to paid employment at area businesses.
