Mario F. Lutchman II, 23, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The Florida Highway Patrol said the accident happened at about 9 p.m. Troopers said Lutchman was driving his Suzuki GSX-R motorcycle south on 49th Street at about 80 mph in a 40 mph zone when he struck a 1999 Dodge Ram driven by Joseph A. Richardson, 38, of Seminole.

Troopers said Lutchman tried to slow down and laid the motorcycle on its side before it skidded into the truck’s undercarriage.

The truck, which was towing a trailer, burst into flames when the fuel line ruptured. Richardson escaped injury.

Robbery results in arrests
PINELLAS PARK – Two suspects were arrested July 5 after a gold necklace was snatched from another man at a residence on 86th Avenue. Officer W. Peterson said the victim reported that the suspect, identified as Dallas Louis Sanchez, 20, 5585 85th Terrace N., Pinellas Park, grabbed a gold necklace with a crucifix that the victim had around his neck.

A struggle ensued, Sanchez broke free and produced a small pistol, aiming at the victim’s face. The victim watched the suspect get into a white Cougar, which left the scene. As a result of a BOLO, the vehicle was located. After detaining three subjects, police found the necklace, a handgun and a substance suspected of being cocaine. The victim told police he had known Sanchez since grade school.

While Sanchez was being transported for booking, he said, “I’m tired. Just get me to jail,” reports said.

The loss prevention officer told police that a blue diaper bag carried by the suspects contained a handgun. Police advised one of the suspects that he had a digital photograph of him pushing a Wal-Mart cart containing the blue diaper. The handgun had seven bullets in the chamber.

During questioning, one of the suspects said, “I’m going to prison for five years, and I have a lot of time to think about what I’m going to do to you when I get out,” reports said.
