PINELLAS PARK – Pinellas Park police officers were pulled into a fight they were trying to break up the morning of Sept. 2.
The fight happened in the 6200 block of 66th Avenue, according to reports. Officers arrived at 7:50 a.m., and one tried to separate the two involved. As he did, Jovany Calderon, 22, of Pinellas Park struck the officer in the face, according to reports. He also pushed an officer multiple times and continued to struggle as officers took him into custody.
Calderon was charged with battery on a law enforcement officers and resisting an officer with violence. He was booked into the Pinellas County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
