PINELLAS PARK – Pinellas County Sheriff’s deputies and Lealman Fire Rescue were called to a private residence in Pinellas Park about 2:41 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, when a 5-year-old boy was found unmoving in a swimming pool.
According to deputies, the victim was at a birthday party with about 30 to 40 people, including some who had been swimming outside in the pool. Another child noticed the victim in the pool, not moving. The victim then was taken out of the pool and someone called 911.
Lealman Fire Rescue arrived on scene and was able to revive the victim. The victim, Cash’us Pashaun Elias, was transported to a local hospital via ambulance with life threatening injuries.
The near drowning does appear to be accidental and no charges are pending.
