PINELLAS PARK Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Trooper Daniel Cole was involved in a shooting that left a suspect injured just before 6 a.m. Sept. 10.
Cole was tracking a LoJack signal for a stolen vehicle, leading him to a garage at the rear of the Royal Palm Cemetery, 2600 Gandy Blvd. in Pinellas Park, according to the agency. As a precaution, Pinellas Park police officers responded as backup.
When Cole approached the garage, he found an armed man and shot him. The injured man Clifford Work, 48, of Tampa was transported to Bayfront Medical Center.
