PINELLAS PARK – A reportedly drunk driver rear-ended a vehicle in a hit-and-run Sept. 21, but then crashed her own car into a ditch, Pinellas Park police reported.
Police responded at around 9:55 p.m. to the first crash, which occurred at U.S. 19 and 110th Avenue. Investigators said a driver struck the rear of a vehicle and fled the scene.
The accused driver – Kori Ugalde, 33, of Pinellas Park – lost control of her vehicle as she fled, driving off the road and into a ditch. She was arrested within an hour of the first crash, according to jail records.
She was charged with driving under the influence, a felony as a repeat offender; leaving the scene of a crash with property damage and refusing to submit to tests, both misdemeanors. She was booked into the Pinellas County Jail on a $10,410 bond.
