PINELLAS PARK – The Pinellas Park Fire Department invites the public to celebrate 100 years of fire service Saturday, Oct. 13, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Station 33, 5000 82nd Ave.
Meet the firefighters who protect the community. The event will feature fire department displays, antique fire trucks, free hot dogs, popcorn and more. Pinellas Park Mayor Sandra Bradbury will present the department with a proclamation at 11 a.m.
Pinellas County also is celebrating its centennial year. The county officially became the states 48th county on Jan. 1, 1912. Pinellas Park incorporated as a city shortly after in 1913.
