PINELLAS PARK – Pinellas County Sheriff’s detectives arrested a 22-year-old Oct. 9 on 11 counts of possession of child pornography and one count of promotion of child pornography.
Detectives assigned to the Special Victims Unit served a search warrant at the Pinellas Park residence of Aaron Ray Barnhart, after conducting an undercover internet investigation that ran from June 10 to Aug. 31.
Through their investigation, detectives identified Barnhart as a potential suspect, who was sharing child pornography videos via the Internet. Detectives obtained a search warrant, which was served at approximately 6: 30 a.m.
Barnhart was interviewed by detectives and reportedly admitted to the allegations. Barnhart was arrested and transported to the Pinellas County Jail without further incident. Bond was set at $130,000. Detectives said downloaded material that was found while serving the search warrant is currently under review and additional charges are pending.
