The Transitions Optical team worked together to create the World’s Largest Photo Mosaic.
PINELLAS PARK – Transitions Optical, the leading global provider of adaptive eyeglass lenses, with its headquarters in Pinellas Park, has set the new Guinness World Records achievement for the World’s Largest Photo Mosaic.
The record-breaking photo mosaic – consisting of 176,750 individual photographs and measuring 21,645 square feet – was unveiled on Oct. 11 to commemorate World Sight Day. Assembled in Tampa by Transitions Optical employees and volunteers from the Tampa Bay area, the mosaic was created to raise awareness about the importance of proper eye care and eyewear.
An Official Guinness World Records Adjudicator attended the mosaic construction and unveiling, to verify that Transitions Optical has set the new record.
Transitions Optical held a Sight of the Day Photo Contest, asking consumers from across the United States and Canada to submit photos of their favorite ‘sights’ that they would miss if they were not able to see clearly. These submissions were used to make up the photo mosaic.
