PINELLAS PARK – A St. Petersburg woman was arrested after trying to leave a Walmart store with unpaid merchandise Oct. 8, Pinellas Park police said.
Donna Hird, 33, was charged with grand theft and resisting a merchant. Police responded to the retail store, at 8001 U.S. 19, around 5:29 p.m.
After an investigation, police say Hird attempted to leave the store without paying for her items and fighting with store personnel when they tried to stop her from leaving.
She fled the store and was apprehended by police a few blocks away. Hird was transported and booked into the Pinellas County Jail on a $2,150 bond.
