Fundraising sale PINELLAS PARK – The First United Methodist Church at 9025 49th St. on Nov. 7 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. will hold a trash and treasure sale. Items such as baked goods, household items, clothing, books and holiday decorations will be offered.
Dinner meeting PINELLAS PARK – The Suncoast Charter Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association will hold a dinner meeting on Nov. 10 at Banquet Masters, 8100 Park Blvd. Networking begins at 6 p.m. with the dinner an hour later. Tina Bubb of Bubb’s Biz Basics will speak on the subject, How to Write a Business Plan. The cost is $14. Call Marion Schindler at 391-8889.
CCSA honors veterans PINELLAS PARK – The Classical Christian School for the Arts on Friday, Nov. 6, at the Performing Arts Center, 4951 78th Ave., will honor military veterans. The event will be co-sponsored by the city of Pinellas Park, the Florida Arts and Council Division of Cultural Affairs and Hardy Huntley, owner of the Wagon Wheel Flea Market. Featured will be dance and music, dignitaries, a color guard and more. Call 547-6820.
Nina Harris Center auction PINELLAS PARK – The Nina Harris Exceptional Student Education Center at 6000 70th Ave. will hold is annual auction on Friday, Nov. 13 to benefit special programs and to pay for supplies. Item previewing and the dinner begins at 5:30 p.m. with bidding starting an hour later. Call Chris Stuckey at 547-7850.
Battle of the Barns PINELLAS PARK – The Battle of the Barns event has been rescheduled for Sunday, Nov. 29, at Helen Howarth Park. The event will include normal classes and special categories such as drill competition, hunter's pace, a trailer decorating contest, a jumping competition and fun classes. Points will be collected throughout the day and qualified barns compete to win a traveling trophy. The event is free and open to the public. Contact Pinellashorse@hotmail.com.
Crafters needed for Holiday in the Park PINELLAS PARK – Crafters are needed for the seventh annual Holiday in the Park Winterfest is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 4, 6 to 10 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 5, noon to 10 p.m. The event will be held at the England Brothers Band Shell, 5121 80th Terr. There will be children's games, hay rides, a candy cane factory, photos with Santa, pony rides, music, food entertainment and more. Proceeds will go to help local charities. School needs printer cartridges, phones PINELLAS PARK – First Baptist Preschool at 5495 Park Blvd. is participating in the Funding Factory Recycling Program and needs empty laser and inkjet printer cartridges and used cell phones. Money earned will help finance preschool programs. Business and individual supporters can drop off or mail cartridges and cell phones to the preschool. Call 544-9465.
Riding club program for disabled PINELLAS PARK – The Saddle Up Riding Club is offering therapeutic riding lessons for disabled children and adults. Kellie Sipos, club founder, said the therapeutic equine-related program contributes to the development, physical and emotional well-being of disabled persons. She said horseback riding gently moves the rider’s body in a manner similar to a human gait that helps improve flexibility, balance and muscle strength. Call 520-3132.
