Pinellas Park calendar of events

The city of Pinellas Park has scheduled a number of events for future dates. They include:
• Dec. 4-5: Holiday in the Park, England Brothers Band Shell, 5121 80th Ave., 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday and noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday. Celebrate the spirit of the holidays as the Pinellas Park Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association presents this community-wide family event with a holiday theme featuring lights, choral performances, photos with Santa and much more. • Dec. 12: 37th annual Holiday Parade, 6 to 9 p.m. Come early and find a spot along Park Boulevard between 58th Street and 43rd Street. This year’s parade theme is “Christmas Around The World,” featuring bands, floats, soldiers, dancers, equestrian groups and more. • March 13-14: Pride in the Park Spring Clean-Up, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call the Utility Billing Division at 541-0711.

Government Events
• City Council: Regular meetings are held the second and fourth Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. of each month. Workshops meet the Tuesday prior to regular meetings at 7:30 p.m. as required. CRA meets at 7 p.m. before the second workshop of the month. Call 541-0706.
• Board of Adjustment: Meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. Call 541-0756.
• Citizens Budget Advisory Committee: Meets as required. Call 541-0744.
• Code Enforcement Board: Meets the third Thursday of each month at 8 a.m. Call 541-0753.
• Community Projects Advisory Board: Meets the first Wednesday of each quarter (March, June, September and December) at 5 p.m. Call 541-0800.
• Equestrian Board: Meets the third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. Call 541-0805, ext. 1402.
• Library Board: Meets the first Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. Call 541-0805, ext. 1402.
• Planning and Zoning Board: Meets the first Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. Workshops are held prior to the regular meeting when required. Call 541-0756.

• Special Magistrates: Meets the fourth Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. Call 541-0753.
• Pinellas County Mayor’s Council: Meets the first Wednesday of each month at 11:30 a.m. Call 541-0706 to verify location, time and date.

Recurring Events
• Freedom Lake Community Garden: The garden is located at the entrance to Freedom Lake Park, 9990 46th Ave. The garden is operated by the Recreation Division and consists of 16 raised garden beds that are available for rental by the public to grow organic vegetables and ornamental plants. Plants or trees that would cast shade onto other boxes are prohibited, as are invasive species. The garden boxes are available during two growing seasons. The rental fee for 5’ X 8’ boxes is $10 per growing season, while 5’ X 16’ boxes are available for $15 per growing season. There is currently a waiting list to rent the boxes. Call 541-0770.
• Saturday Morning Market: “Market in the Park” is open each Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. behind Park Station, 5851 Park Blvd. Live entertainment and food concessions are available. Vendors will be selling clothing, arts and crafts, vegetables and an assortment of other items. Call Gene Lofgren at 483-8853.
• Theater Pipe Organ Performance: Every third Tuesday of the month 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the City Auditorium, 7690 59th St. Relive the golden years of theater as melodies are played on the Mighty Wurlitzer Theater Organ. Admission is free.
