PINELLAS PARK – A Pinellas Park woman, found with a handwritten list of items to steal, was caught on video surveillance trying to steal drills and batteries from the Home Depot at 4040 Park Blvd., Nov. 11, according to Pinellas Park police.
Home Depot loss prevention noticed Jolene Marie Manthei, 29, taking items from their packaging and concealing them in her personal bag. She then tried to walk out of the store. She was stopped until police arrived.
She had two different types of Dewalt drills and Duracell batteries, for a total value of $284, in her purse. Manthei told police a male in her family had instructed her to take the items, threatening her with a gun.
The handwritten note police found on Manthei listed “any Dewalt tools,” torches and lighter for torches as items to steal from Home Depot. It also included items Manthei should steal from Walmart, including batteries, radios, fog lights, clothes, a wireless network adapter. She was charged with shoplifting and booked into Pinellas County Jail.
