PINELLAS PARK – Horse enthusiasts and spectators from throughout the Tampa Bay area turned out for a horse show on Sunday, Nov. 22.

The day long event at Helen Howarth Community Park on 94th Avenue was sponsored by the Bay Area Horseman’s Association.

Although the crowd was not as large as at previous events, the enthusiasm was as children, teenagers and adults competed for ribbons in various classes. One of the more popular events at the show was the miniature donkey competition where jack and jennies ... male and female donkeys ... also competed.

The monthly horse shows have become popular in recent months as BAHA and the Pinellas Park/Gateway Chamber of Commerce combined forces to reintroduce the events.

The shows are held the 4th Sunday of each month from September through April. There will be no show in December due to the Christmas holidays. The next one will be on Jan. 24.
