Firefighters to host movie night PINELLAS PARK – City firefighters will host the showing of the movie, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” on Saturday, Nov. 28. The event will be held at the England Brothers Band Shell, 5120 80th Ave., starting at 6 p.m.The free event will benefit the Pinellas Park Firefighters Benevolent Fund that provides assistance to fire victims throughout the year and to over 120 children during the holidays.
Battle of the Barns slated for Nov. 29 PINELLAS PARK – The Battle of the Barns event will be held on Sunday, Nov. 29, at Helen Howarth Park. The event will include normal classes and special categories such as drill competition, hunter's pace, a trailer decorating contest, a jumping competition and fun classes. Holiday in the Park set for Dec. 4-5 PINELLAS PARK – The 7th annual Holiday in the Park festivities will be held Dec. 4 and 5 at the England Brothers Band Shell. The event will be held from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 4 and from noon until 10 p.m. the next day. It will include children's games, hay rides, a candy cane factory, photographs with Santa, crafters, food, local elementary school talent, bands each night, and more. Admission is free. Riding club offers program for disabled PINELLAS PARK – The Saddle Up Riding Club is offering therapeutic riding lessons for disabled children and adults. Kellie Sipos, club founder, said the therapeutic equine-related program contributes to the development, physical and emotional well-being of disabled persons. She said horseback riding gently moves the rider’s body in a manner similar to a human gait that helps improve flexibility, balance and muscle strength. Call 520-3132.
