Man charged with burglary, drug possession
PINELLAS PARK – A Pinellas Park man was arrested Dec. 22 after police said he was caught burglarizing a car.

Jonathan E. Mangels, 19, was charged with burglary and possession of a controlled substance. He remains in the Pinellas County Jail in lieu of $7,250 bail.

Police responded to the Shadow Run Apartments complex at 12001 Belcher Road at about 6:15 a.m. to investigate a report of a man breaking into cars. Officer Jimmy Rexroad was the first to respond. Police said he allegedly caught Mangels in the front seat of a car that did not belong to him. Police said the suspect was rifling through the glove compartment. He was later found to have 11 Alprazolam pills in his possession.

Alleged shoplifter arrested on drug charges
PINELLAS PARK – A St. Petersburg woman was arrested Dec. 18 on shoplifting and drug charges. Amy Lynn Charrow, 22, was charged with retail theft, possession of 25 grams of marijuana and possession of the drug Roxycodine. She was released from the Pinellas County Jail after posting $7,150 bail.

Police said the suspect was at the Walmart Super Store, 8001 U.S. 19, at about 11:45 p.m. when security officers witnessed her placing infant clothing in her purse. A subsequent search of her purse allegedly disclosed a bag with 25 grams of marijuana and three Roxycodone pills.

Two vagrants arrested for disorderly conduct
PINELLAS PARK – Two homeless men were arrested Dec. 16 in a city park. Johnny Lee Lakin, 47, was charged with disorderly intoxication and resisting arrest without violence. It was his 22nd arrest since 2006. Sid A. Brandeberry, 57, was charged with carrying a a knife, resisting arrest without violence and disorderly intoxication. It was his 13th arrest since 2006.

Both men were booked into the Pinellas County Jail. Brandeberry was released in his own recognizance. Police said the pair were arrested at about 10:25 a.m. by Officer Steven Vangeli of the homeless outreach team after a city employee said the men were drinking beer at Davis Field Park, 6050 78th Ave.
