SEMINOLE - Detectives assigned to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Economic Crimes Unit are seeking the public’s assistance in locating two credit card fraud/identity theft suspects from Seminole.
The first theft occurred Saturday, Feb. 1, between the hours of 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at the Aldi grocery store at 24756 U.S. 19 N. in Clearwater. The second theft was on Sunday, Feb. 2, between the hours of 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Aldi grocery store at 7777 Seminole Blvd. in Seminole.
According to detectives, the two suspects enter grocery stores and look for opportune times to remove wallets from opened purses left on the upper carrier of grocery carts or being carried by unsuspecting shoppers that are momentarily pre-occupied. The first suspect removes wallets from the shoppers while the second acts as a lookout.
The first suspect is described as a black female in her mid-30s, 5 foot 5 inches to 5 foot 9 inches tall, approximately 150 pounds with black shoulder length straight hair. She was last seen wearing a light colored sweater with horizontal stripes and a dark colored shirt underneath and yellow slacks.
The second suspect is described as a black female in her mid-30s, 5 foot 2 inches to 5 foot 5 inches tall, approximately 160 to 180 pounds. She was last seen wearing her hair pulled back in a ponytail with sunglasses on her head, a red and white checkered/plaid short-sleeve shirt, jeans, tennis shoes and a watch on her left wrist. She also walks with a limp.
The two suspects have been seen traveling in a newer model silver Chrysler mini-van with the first suspect driving.
