Man arrested for firing BB gun
SEMINOLE – A Vero Beach man was arrested by Pinellas County Sheriff’s deputies March 10 and charged with DUI and two counts of felony aggravated assault following an incident under the Bay Pines Boulevard bridge.

According to a sheriff’s report, two men were fishing under the northwest section of the bridge when Terrance Arthur Holahan, 51, parked his 1991 Ford Ranger truck near the foundation of the bridge, walked toward the two men and began firing a BB gun at them for no apparent reason. Holahan later tossed the gun in the water.

The two men called 911 for help and when deputies arrived found Holahan in the truck. The BB gun was later recovered from the water. Holahan was transported to Pinellas County Jail where bond was set at $10,100.

Pursuit ends with arrest
SEMINOLE – A lengthy pursuit by Pinellas County Sheriff’s deputies ended March 7 with the crash of a stolen vehicle and the arrest of the driver.

Michael Lamar Calhoun, 21, of St. Petersburg tried to elude deputies about 8:15 p.m. after he crashed a stolen car near the intersection of Bay Pines Boulevard and 83rd Street North.

Deputies began following Calhoun following a routine tag check at the intersection of Starkey and Ulmerton roads. Deputies tried a traffic stop but Calhoun refused to pull over. Calhoun also drove around Stop Sticks before the Sheriff’s helicopter unit was called in to follow Calhoun until he crashed.

Deputies quickly approached after the crash but Calhoun ran before being apprehended.

Deputies said a female passenger and three small children were traveling against their will in the car. They were unhurt.

Calhoun was charged with grand theft auto, fleeing and eluding a law enforcement officer, four counts of false imprisonment, three counts of child abuse, possession of marijuana and leaving the scene of an accident with damage.

He was transported to Pinellas County Jail where bond was set at $96,000.
