Motorcycle, bicycle collide

SEMINOLE – A 73-year-old bicyclist was struck and injured Sunday by a motorcyclist as he was attempting to cross Bay Pines Boulevard at 100th Way.

Alexander DiMatteo of St. Petersburg was transported to Bayfront Medical Center where he was treated for life-threatening injuries.

According to a Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office report, DiMatteo was attempting to cross Bay Pines Boulevard at about 3:30 p.m. when he was struck by Arthur Grimes, 51, of St. Petersburg who was driving a 2007 Harley-Davidson westbound.

Grimes and his passenger, 50-year-old Colleen Jackson of Largo, were not seriously hurt.

The investigation continues.
