Music in the Park searching for bands
SEMINOLE – The City of Seminole’s 12th annual Music in the Park Series is accepting applications from performers.

Music in the Park is a six-week concert series that displays a different music genre each week. It is a highly-attended venue that seeks out top level local talent as well as notable national musicians. Performers are selected through a committee process that will begin in early April and complete in May. Application deadline is April 24. All performers, groups, bands and musicians are encouraged to apply. Application may be obtained by contacting Duane Crandall at 391-8345.

Movies Under the Stars to kick off series
SEMINOLE – The city of Seminole will be hosting the fifth annual Movies Under the Stars on Friday nights beginning April 4 at Seminole City Park, 7464 Ridge Road. This year’s theme is “Spy Spectacular” and will feature some of the best spy movies in recent years. The lineup is: April 4, “Casino Royale”; April 11, “Agent Cody Banks”; April 18, “Alex Rider Operation Stormbreaker”; and April 25, “Cats and Dogs.”

The free movies will be projected onto a screen in the park, beginning each week at 8 p.m. Those attending should bring lawn chairs and blankets. Popcorn, nachos, candy and beverages will be available for purchase to benefit the Seminole Teen Board. Call Duane Crandall at 391-8345 with any questions. Sponsors are currently being sought.

Community yard sale
SEMINOLE – Seminole Recreation has rescheduled the Pow Wow Community Yard Sale for Saturday, March 29, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the recreation center. The flea market will be hosted by many community vendors. Food and refreshments will be for sale. Call 391-8345.

SEMINOLE – The city of Seminole Recreation Division is offering a training program for teens to enable them to gain work experience on a volunteer basis. Teens will work directly with the Seminole Recreation summer camp program and perform various tasks to assist the staff. Participants must have completed seventh grade by the time camps begin. Application forms may now be picked up at the Recreation Center. For more information, call 391-8345.
