SEMINOLE Mayor Leslie Waters initiated a 2014 citywide, yearlong canned food drive at the beginning of the year. Her goal is to have collected 18,739 items by the end of the year, representing one item per Seminole resident.
Due to the generosity of our citizens and spirit of competition in the business community, and schools, the first quarter result is 7,983 collected items, which is almost 43 percent of our year-end goal, Mayor Waters said.
She added, We really popped the tops off the cans first quarter. Spring is in the air now, so lets continue to fling-it, roll-em and drop off food items at the locations listed below.
