This new passenger shelter at 4820 Park St. was dedicated by Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority on May 5.
SEMINOLE – Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority unveiled a new, colorful passenger shelter May 5 in front of the Park Street Retail Center, 4820 Park St., featuring the work of artist Mark Fuller.

The project was aimed at enhancing the public transportation system as well as the city of Seminole by putting artistic ingenuity into the design of a passenger shelter.

The art was commissioned by the St. Petersburg-based Sembler Co., which developed the shopping center.

“This beautiful new bus shelter is a functional work of art that can serve as an impetus for future transit amenities,” PSTA Executive Director Tim Garling said in a news release. “The city of Seminole and The Sembler Company are to be commended for making this first of its kind investment in the community. We invite other cities and companies to join us in making and improving livability in Pinellas County by initiating their own bus shelter art projects.”

Fuller, who is based in West Palm Beach, previously created public art for various locations along the Pinellas Trail.
