Seminole baseball player charged with felony

SEMINOLE – Seminole High School baseball standout Jay Taylor was arrested and charged May 21 with felony lewd and lascivious battery on a child.
According to a Pinellas County Sheriff’s affidavit, Taylor, 18, of 7222 125th St. N., and a female under age 16 engaged in sexual intercourse May 13 at about 11 p.m. in Taylor’s 2003 Ford pickup truck while parked in a public parking lot at 19019 Gulf Blvd., Indian Shores.
The act was witnessed by an Indian Shores police officer. Taylor later admitted to the crime.
He was booked into the Pinellas County Jail where bond was set at $20,000.
