SEMINOLE – After more than 50 years of carrying the Standard Oil banner, Seminole Chevron, 7790 Ridge Road, is switching its affiliation this week to BP-Amoco.
Business owner Bob Ahrendt said the transition to BP came about because Chevron is phasing out affiliations with gas stations that also do automotive repairs.
“I’ve got people that have been coming in here for 20 or 30 years,” said Ahrendt. “We’re an old-fashion, family-run business.”
Ahrendt and his family have operated at the site for seven years. His son, Jim Ahrendt, is a certified mechanic who performs automotive repairs.
The station, owned by Risser Oil Corp. of Clearwater, will change its colors, signage and pumps to reflect the change.
Seminole BP will offer lower prices for cash purchases over credit. Also, for a limited amount of time, the station is offering a BP credit card promotion that will give customers 10 percent off the purchase price of gasoline.
Hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
