Seminole Mayor Jimmy Johnson chats with Leona Kramer during her 105th birthday party June 19 at The Vineyards assisted living facility.
SEMINOLE – A woman believed to be the city’s oldest resident celebrated her 105th birthday June 19 at The Vineyards assisted living facility at 10929 Ridge Road.

Leona Kramer was greeted in a community room by a group of about 50 friends and residents. She quickly reacted happily to piano tunes and a birthday cake especially baked for her by the chef at The Vineyards.

A former resident of Wisconsin, Leona has lived at The Vineyards for the past 11 years. She moved to the area in the 1970s.

According to staff at the facility, Leona still gets in and out of bed by herself and is able to make it to the restroom by herself.

One of the keys to longevity? She has never smoked or drank, she said.
